Xerjoff Alexandria III is one of the standout oud fragrances in the house's Oud Stars collection, and it is built around the pairing of oud and rose. It opens warm and spicy, with lavender, palisander rosewood and cinnamon giving an aromatic, woody prelude, more inviting than sharp. It sets the stage rather than dominating.
At its heart, Bulgarian rose blooms against lily-of-the-valley and cedar, a rich floral centre that then gives way to the real subject of the perfume. As it settles, a blend of mature Laotian and Thai ouds emerges fully, resinous and opulent, smoothed by sandalwood, amber, vanilla and musk into something deep, creamy and long-lasting. It moves from spice to flower to a dark, precious oud base, the arc that makes it feel less like a scent and more like a journey.
