Louis Vuitton x URS Fischer Special Edition Keepall Monogram Red

The Louis Vuitton x Urs Fischer Keepall in red is one of the more unusual artist collaborations the house has done. Fischer, the Swiss contemporary artist known for wrong-footing people with everyday objects, took the Monogram, the most controlled and precisely reproduced pattern in fashion, and redrew it by hand. The result is loose and slightly wonky, the familiar flowers and initials rendered as if sketched rather than printed, and here it runs in bright red across the canvas.

That contrast is the whole point: a pattern Louis Vuitton has protected and reproduced exactly since 1896, handed to an artist and drawn freehand. It is finished with red leather trim and gold-tone hardware, and the underlying bag is the Keepall, Louis Vuitton's soft travel bag since the 1930s, so it is soft-sided and packs down when empty, with rolled leather top handles and a wide top zip.
