The Louis Vuitton Speedy P9 Bandoulière 40 in Rouge comes from Pharrell Williams' debut collection for Louis Vuitton, his first as the house's men's creative director. It reworks the Speedy that launched in 1930, swapping the usual coated canvas for supple grained calfskin in a deep red. The 40 is the large size in the range, with a softer, less structured shape than the classic canvas Speedy.
The Monogram here is silk-screened directly onto the leather, which recreates the slightly blurred look of canvas Monogram while keeping the soft hand of calfskin. Natural vachetta trim runs across the handles, strap, key bell, and name tag, and will patina over time.
