Hermès

Hermès has been making leather goods in Paris since 1837. That is nearly two centuries of the same commitment: every bag made by hand, by a single artisan, from start to finish. No assembly lines. No shortcuts. The house that began as a harness maker to European royalty eventually tur...

The Hermès Collections at Konesseur

The Konesseur Hermès collection is organised across six distinct bag families, each with its own character, heritage, and collector following.

The Birkin

The world's most recognisable luxury bag, available in 25cm, 30cm, and 35cm in Togo, Epsom, and Clemence leathers. The Birkin collection at Konesseur represents the primary entry point for new Hermès collectors and the most frequently acquired reference for established ones. Secondary market prices for a Birkin 30 in Togo leather currently sit between AED 95,000 and AED 115,000 for pristine examples, reflecting a sustained premium over boutique retail.

The Kelly

The bag that Grace Kelly carried on the cover of Life magazine in 1956, changing its name and its trajectory forever. The Kelly comes in two constructions, Sellier and Retourne, and multiple sizes. The Kelly collection is where collectors who want structured formality meet those who want something that works from morning to evening without changing.

The HAC

The Haut à Courroies is the bag that came before the Birkin. Originally designed to carry riding equipment, the HAC is taller, deeper, and rarer than the Birkin. Collectors who already own multiple Birkins frequently acquire the HAC as the more knowledgeable, quieter statement.

The Roulis

Introduced in 2015 with its horseshoe-shaped clasp, the Roulis brought Hermès' equestrian heritage directly into the design of a modern shoulder bag. It is the most wearable everyday bag in the collection. See the Roulis collection.

The Chypre and the Bouncing

The Chypre and the Bouncing are among the newer Hermès silhouettes, each representing a different direction the house is exploring beyond its iconic quota bags: structured and architectural in one case, playful and softly rounded in the other.

Why Hermès Bags Hold Their Value

No luxury brand in the world consistently outperforms Hermès on secondary market appreciation. The reasons are structural and have not changed. Hermès limits production deliberately, allocates quota bags selectively even to loyal clients, and has raised prices on the Birkin and Kelly between 6 and 9 percent each year since 2022. A Birkin 25 that retailed for approximately AED 36,000 in 2016 now retails for approximately AED 49,600 at boutique prices and trades between AED 95,000 and AED 110,000 on the secondary market. That trajectory, held consistently over a decade through market corrections that affected other luxury assets, is the foundation of why Hermès sits in a separate category from every other handbag investment.

Sotheby's data for 2025 showed Birkin and Kelly bag sales growing 44 percent year over year, with average selling prices rising 35 percent. These are not speculative assets at the top of a bubble. They are the most liquid, most consistently appreciated segment of the entire luxury goods secondary market, with demand accelerating rather than softening as retail prices rise.

Authentication at Konesseur

Every Hermès piece in the Konesseur collection has been verified across the full authentication checklist before being offered for sale. This includes blind stamp year and artisan code verification, hardware engraving quality and alignment, stitching count per centimetre against the Hermès standard, leather grain authentication, clochette and lock assembly, interior lining condition, and dust bag and box documentation where available. The process is documented in full on our authenticity page. For clients wishing to sell Hermès pieces through Konesseur, the sell with us process applies the same standard. New Hermès arrivals are listed in new arrivals as exceptional pieces enter the collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do Hermès bags cost in Dubai?

Hermès boutique retail prices in Dubai in 2026 are approximately AED 49,600 for a Birkin 25 in Togo leather and AED 54,700 for a Birkin 30. Kelly bags begin at approximately AED 50,300 for the Kelly 25. Secondary market prices for pristine examples in classic colours are significantly higher. Dubai's zero import duty and 5 percent VAT make it one of the most cost-effective markets globally for Hermès purchases compared to the UK (20 percent VAT) and most of Europe.

Are Hermès bags a good investment?

The Birkin and Kelly consistently outperform most conventional investments on a multi-year horizon. Retail prices have increased 6 to 9 percent annually since 2022, and secondary market prices for pristine examples in classic leathers and colours have historically traded at 2 to 2.5 times retail. Sotheby's reported average selling prices rising 35 percent in 2025 year over year. No other handbag category produces this track record.

What is the difference between a Birkin and a Kelly?

The Birkin has two handles and is typically carried open, functioning as a structured tote. The Kelly has a single handle and a clasp closure, functioning more as a formal bag. The Kelly also comes with a removable shoulder strap. The Birkin is generally considered more casual and versatile; the Kelly is considered more structured and formal. Both are produced in Retourne (soft) and Sellier (rigid) constructions. See the full comparison in the Birkin and Kelly collection pages.

Can I sell my Hermès bag through Konesseur?

Yes. We actively acquire Hermès Birkin, Kelly, HAC, and other Hermès references on an ongoing basis and are particularly interested in well-documented pieces in excellent condition with original accessories including dust bags, clochette, lock, and keys.
